The Vision

The Vision

by Debi Pearl

The Vision is the story of a small community of happy, zealous Christians tucked away in the mountains of East Tennessee. They live in turbulent times. Their peaceful little town, run by a White Supremacists mayor and police department, hosts a growing number of secretive Muslims. The White Supremacist are irate at the Last Publishers for having in leadership a black man, Omar, converted in prison and now living in the community with his white wife and children. But even more troubling is the growing number of secretive Muslims who appear to be watching the Last Publishers compound. They should be worried because the ministry has focused on winning Muslin people worldwide. Their outreach is working. First huge number of Iranians, next many Muslin in Asia are beginning to turn to the Lord due to the publication of a comic type book with the Bible story.

From Amazon: Editorial Reviews

I have just finished devouring The Vision. It was well-written with complicated, real characters. The gospel and all Bible teaching was neatly tucked into the plot. No pauses for an obvious sermon as in some Christian fiction I have read. Enough action to keep you turning the pages but also good dialogue and even a love story (minus the romance novel junk). I have read a lot of end of the world type science fiction/fantasy and while some left me disturbed emotionally by the imagery none have sent me to my knees or to my Bible as this book has. There are some scary and sad scenes but a constant reminder that God is in control, caring for His children, and some well-placed humor help to keep the book positive rather than depressing. I also liked the tidbits of factual knowledge at the bottom - although sometimes that was more disturbing than the story line!

HIGHLY recommended by this picky reader. --smfmommy

Educational AND Entertaining, July 21, 2009 By WKH (SC)

This writer kicks down the boundaries of religious and church experiences and places her characters in the thick of some pressing life crisis. Tension builds as environmental concerns, racial bigotry and terrorist extremists all seem to be set at odds against the main characters. Scattered throughout the story line are snippets of information that range from helpful hints on how to use herbs to how to extend the gas mileage of a vehicle using water. The writer weaves a tale that brings assorted elements together into an adventurous saga, and she includes real-life references at the bottom of the pages. This is one book that left me feeling like I hadn't just wasted my time. It spurred me on to further research and reading to investigate some things for my own. That, to me, is the mark of a master teacher. This is one I'll read again!

A Great Read, July 16, 2009 By M. Frantz I enjoyed this book very much. The plot is interesting and exciting. The characters have depth. The tidbits of factual information at the bottom of some of the pages are fascinating and makes this fiction book seem a little less fictional.

Adventure, a love story, and things to learn makes for a fun and thought provoking read.

About the author:

Debi and her husband, Michael Pearl, are international best-selling authors. Their books have been translated into over 30 languages worldwide. Together they have sold over 1 million books.

They have five happily married children and a growing host of grandchildren. They, with the help of their children, author a free bi-monthly magazine www.nogreaterjoy.org which explores child training, marriage, Bible teaching, and natural healing. Asked for her credentials on child training she points to her five children.

As goes the child so goes the future adult and the future parent. At every moment, parents holding little children are holding the future. Parenting, the most important and demanding job in the world comes on us by default. Ready or not, prepared or ill equipped, all parents produce fruit that lasts throughout eternity. It is like stopping everyone that walks down the street and seating them at a piano to play for five minutes. The melody or the dissonance goes on and on from one generation to the next unless someone takes the time to break the cycle and learn the skill... of parenting.

Through books and tapes, the Pearls are training parents to break the bad habits passed down from former generations, and to recognize and emulate the wisdom of those who have gone before. The Bible and common sense are the foundations for effective parenting. The Pearls' first book on child training, To Train Up A Child, was published in August 1994 by No Greater Joy Ministries. To date, over 650,000 have been printed in English and Spanish.

In 2004 she authored her first book without her husband a book on marriage, Created To Be His Help Meet which has sold over 350,000 copies in English and Spanish and has been published in several other languages through rights and licensing agreements. In 2006 the book was followed up with a Journal authored by Debi Pearl entitled The Help Meet's Journey: A Yearly Companion Journal for Created To Be His Help Meet.

The Vision, Debi’s first novel has reached the Amazon Top 100 5 times and the Barnes and Noble Top 100 3 times. Listen To My Dream is Debi’s first children’s book.
