Reviews of book:
Martin Roth -
I thoroughly enjoyed Robert's tale of his pilgrimage to the holy land. At times I felt I was walking alongside him. I was also intrigued by the way he mixes into his narrative stories of his stage performances, and the reactions of his audiences. This is an original book full of fascinating insights. I was there!, December 8, 2006

Macklin's placing of excerpts from the Gospels into context along with his observations from walking the very paths Jesus took has made His story more vivid to me than I have ever felt before.
Marie Foss "avid book reader" (Rockport) -
Jesus, The Final Journey is an excellent book for anyone who wants to know more about Jesus and His last year. It is especially good for those who are teaching Religious Education classes of any age, the perfect addition to the required text(s). This is also a book to keep on ones' bedside table to read and reread again. The maps are particularly good for those of us who may be geographically challenged, giving us a clearer insight into where Jesus was (had we forgotten from our Sunday School days). A nice bonus is the larger print, especially when reading late at night, just before bedtime. Jesus, The Final Journey is a book you will keep forever.
Andrew Remson "Reader" (Alexandria, VA USA) -
There is an old proverb that to understand a person you need to walk a mile in his shoes. For more than 20 years the author of this book has worn sandals as he played the part of Jesus in one-act plays. In preparing to write this book, Macklin also conducted research in the field -- wearing his sandals, he retraced Jesus' journey through Israel and Lebanon. Thus he was able not only to quote the Biblical texts for each point in the journey but also to describe how the various locations appear now and probably appeared then. He was also able to suggest likely reasons, based on the texts and on geography, for the twists and turns in the journey. The result of this experience and research is a fascinating and illuminating book that should be of interest to a wide audience.
Frank E. Sisson -
A great study of the final days of Jesus's life with explanations of why things happened the way they did. This book presents a new way of looking at Jesus and reasons why he did the things that he did. This is a must read for anyone who wants to learn more about the foundations of Christianity.

I could not put this excellent book down. It is well written. It is thoroughly researched. The author even went to the Holy Land and walked the same paths as Jesus. The excerpts from scripture are short but appropriate. This book is beneficial and instructive to anyone from any religion.

Robert hopes that, by combining scripture and his personal reflection on these last days, the reader will gain an insight into the mind-set of Jesus during those turbulent times, and enjoy a greater understanding of the humanity of Jesus and His sacrifice made on our behalf, as they accomp- any Him on this journey.
