That means you now have more choices: Traditional Publishing, Print on Demand Publishing, or Self-Publishing. Traditional Publishing can be reluctant to invest in unknown writers because of the cost involved. An advantage of the traditional publisher is they will place your book in bookstores. Print On Demand Publishers are often more willing to publish the works of an unknown writers. This is an advantage. As a new independent writer I chose to go with a POD publisher. The disadvantage is POD publishers may not advertise your book, except for a listing on their website.
Self-Publishing gives the writer complete control, but also sole responsibility. As a Writer How Do YOU Advertise Your Book? That was my dilemma also. I went looking. Unhappy with what I found I built a webpage, which unfortunately was too insignificant for search engines to find. I looked around for other alternatives. When I couldn't find what I wanted I decided to join with other writers and create a website for and by authors. We would love to have you join us. When we join together we can control the marketing of our books. How? you might ask. This site lists your books on a website big enough to be found by surfers, but they go to your site to purchase your book. You set the price. Many of us can buy our books from the publishers at deep discounts and pass that savings on to the buyer.
