Christian Autobiography

David Hobbs Christian autobiography is a compelling testimony.

Out of the Fire, A Life Radically Changed

by David Hobbs

After young David Hobbs leaves his midwestern hometown for college, he spends eight summers fighting wildfires for the U.S. Forest Service. He finds, as his life begins to go up in flames, a powerful and spiritual awakening. Far from the life he imagined, David's future is charred by his inability to deal with intimate relationships, his history of arrests involving drug-charges, and eventually, his not-so-glamorous exodus from the Forest Service. Out of The Fire follows the events, from the ranks of an elite fire crew on the Klamath National Forest, to a "summer of love" in Berkeley, California, as they lead him, eventually, to call upon the God he once rejected.

Reviews of book:

In these pages are watershed moments, results of instant decisions, uneasy bouts of anticipation when the woods are tinderbox dry... --Todd Mercer, ForeWord CLARION Review

It is easy to forget how events mold us. We can choose to ignore them, or, do as David did--evaluate them... [and] make changes to build our better future. --Kevin J. Carlson, Reviewer for Amicus Books Literary Arts Center.

The book is filled with colorful experiences, giving a glimpse of his life and insight into the adventure and risk of fire fighting. --John Diehm, Siskiyou Daily News Staff Writer
